Help cutting costs of gaming pc

I would get the Haswell i3 instead of the 6300. Its newer, faster in less multithreaded games, comparable in well multithreaded games, runs cooler.

I agree with bonobos andmarcolou about getting a i3 and skipping the an contiller but my budget has increased and I'm willing to spend up to $1200 but would prefer to keep it lower. Anyways what can I improve besides going for a i3?
