[HELP] Corsair H90 on LGA775, Rampage Extreme X48

Hello,

Tried to find the answer for this question in the last couple of days, googled and googled for ages but to be honest im still confused. I know the official site says no compatibility with this socket. Read that the H90's backplate has holes for lga 775, but the brackets don't have these holes on them. Some of the reviews on the internet(quaility sites) do say that the H90 is compatible with lga 775 boards, some say something else, and reliable shops has lga 775 compatibility under the H90 details. I would do modding if necessary to make it fit.
Any ideas?
Did anyone try this before ?
Don't want to spend £70 on a cooler what won't fit my mobo.

Sockets:

Intel LGA 1155, 1156, 1366, 2011


775 is not listed.

775 is not simular to 1155 or 1156.
1155 = 1150 = 1156

you will have problems with it from the back plate which is used to mount the cooler along with the top bracket.

This is not something u can mickey mouse unless u have a excess of mounting hardware which u can retrofit.

So the only thing i need is a top bracket what supports socket 775. Do you think the mobo has enough space around the cpu ? Read problems about too close capacitors and mine are right next to the white line. Is it gonna be a problem ? Have a friend who could make me a custom bracket but still not sure about the capacitors.

have him make the top bracket a star like pattern.

like that... the rear bracket which would need to screw onto it should be a square like this:

You might be able to use a rear bracket from an H50 or H80. They should fit 775
