HELP:Corrupt downloads using a Linksys router??

I have a Linksys BEFSr41 and all the computer, when downloading .exe and .zip files, they do not extract and it stated that they are either corrupt or file not found. It must be some of my configuration (connected to cable modem)

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Are you using AIM to send or recieve these files? When I use AIM, the stuff I send is usually destroyed beyond recognition but when I used Direct Connect, ICQ, IRC, FTP, etc. I have no problems.

I have the same router with 3 WindowsME computers behind it. Never seen that problem before. You must have something configured wrong in Windows. Have you applied any of those Windows speed tweaks or anything?

How many corrupt files have you downloaded? If you were getting corrupt downloads, you'd also have trouble browsing the internet.

Most of the download are .zip files and .exe files. Also, I noticed if I download mp3 files, they tend to "burp" more than usual. I will look for the firmware update and see if that works and let you guys know. The reason I noticed this is that I have two Windows ME systems that did this, but this a brand new Windows 98 (nothing else installed) also did the same thing, as winzip is the first thing I tried. I also (on the Windows 98 computer) tried to update Direct X and Internet Explorer. Both had the corrupt file name, so I knew something else was up.

Again, thanks for the info and I will work on it today!!

Firmware released in Dec. seemed to do the trick!!! Thanks again!!
