Ah, nuts.

I'm not entirely sure what's happened yet, but for all appearances my Radeon VE is cooked.

Since my rig is essentially disabled until I replace it, I need to go shopping tomorrow.

Any suggestions on a suitable replacement? The VE is over two years old, so I figure I should be able to pick up a somewhat better card for the same price range ($75-100 USD). I haven't had time for the usual research, so I'm going mostly blind here.

Priorities are:
- desktop (at least 75 mHz at 1280x1024)
- multimedia (DVD playback, really basic video editing)
- dual-head if possible, but that's a wishlist thing
- preferably fanless, as I'm trying to build a quiet PC.

If I can find something like an AIW that's always a bonus, as my apt. has have cable but no TV.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, I'm sort of under the gun here. Work due monday + no computer = badness.

Thanks folks!

You could find a 8500 card in that price range from ATI. If you get a good deal like a Geforce4 (Not MX) for under $100, grab that. If you can wait some time, get the Radeon 9200 Pro.
