Like this is even worth taking the time to discuss, man I wish I had these kind of dilemmas in my life.

:(, I know. Being here makes me so jealous, and I REALLY don't want to go home!

Excess money isn't something to be jealous about. I believe it puts too much hassle and worry into your life.

Financial security is quite nice, but even if I became wealthy, a simple lifestyle is so much better.

Besides, he might think that the private jet is boring cuz it's the same old people he's always around, and no one new to talk to. Let's face it, you people are lame!! ;)
interesting people, huh? i can't say that i've met many interesting people on airplanes.

Frankly, cattle class is an experience I think every person should have at least once in life.

ESPECIALLY Cattle Class on a transatlatic B747-4

Dude, I flew to Rome in one of those big jets. Only a liiitle bit of room. Plane overbooked, had to share 3 seats with 5 people. I had to saw my legs off :p.

But on the way back, there were only like, 25 of us, so I had 3 seats for myself.

growing up i used to think tv dinners were special, because we never had them. everyone knows they taste like crap, but the rarity made them a nice treat. just let him fly economy and make up his own mind. it may not be better than private plane, but he still may enjoy the experience...

Hate to disagree but it's not necessarily better, depends on what he wants!

he may be 9 but being like everyone else might not be so bad. I'll go ahead and take his spot as pampered rich kid and he can be a 'normal' kid.

The thing is that he pretty much is a "normal" kid. There's nothing about him thats different, hes not a pampered kid who acts like he's "better," it's just humorous that he thinks Economy Class is this magical place ;).

Good. Leave him be. Looks like his parents are raising him right. Spoiled brats are just that: brats.

how big is the private jet?

for a transatlantic flight, he might be right depending on the size of this private jet, i'd rather do transatlantic on a large commercial airliner over most smaller private jets.

I believe it's a Gulfstream. These people have a lot of money, so it's def. something that would be pretty nice. They've done trans-Atlantic flights with it before.

Ahh, rich people who go for some style.
You get a Lear to make people go "ohhh ahhhh"
You get a Gulfstream to make your ass go "ohhhh ahhhh"

Its like daddys chair next to a wooden milking stool.

if you have a bazillion dollars and time is worth a lot to you, why not get a private jet to bypass all the inconveniences of flying commercial?

I think he would, and that he would get a Gulfstream and not a Lear. At least that's what I got out of his post... maybe you were reading something different.

hmm i thought he was making fun of having either as being somehow extravagant and useless.

if he has the option of flying in a private jet from France to the US, hes not 'normal'
