hey guys im having this horrible issue with my computer, where anytime i load a game , HL2, BF2 my system stutters for a sec, then i move forward and then my computre completly freezes and then crashes usually, its never realy crashed but ive always had to restart it so yeah, I hvae never had this problem and i was able to play BF2 perfectly at 1280X1024 with evertyhin maxed with my new graphics card (X850XT) i then took all my overclocks off on the card and still its doing this, I had to recently format my whole computer becuase of a sudden error of corrupt win32 file, so i reloaded my whole computer and now this is happening ever since? So i ran a memtest overnight, and in the morning it had 0 errors at as at 1100% coverage, so i thought it was my video card, so i took it back and got a whole new one (X850XT) and still its happening:( whats wrong?

I dont know if i updated my systemspecs lately but i have 1.5 gig ram, 550 watt titan PSU, X850XT thanks !!

Much to learn, you still have. It doesn't matter how new the power supply is, or how much wattage, it's all the brand. A 520 watt OCZ PSU would eat your 550 watt PSU for lunch. Your computer is crashing because it needs lots of power to run games, and the PSU isn't giving it the power it needs so the computer crashes. That's happend to me before. Trying to run a x850xt on some cheapo 550 watt power supply is just asking for trouble. No offense :)

EDIT: Even though you havn't been having this problem lately, PSU's do wear out over time, especially those that arn't trusted brands, and your corrupted win32 file was probably because the computer gave out while windows was working on something.

really? well thanks for the info i appreciate it, i guess ill buy a good 100 dollar PSU instead of the diamond back razer mouse:( or try for both! i hope that its that, because im running like PCMark 04, 05 and im getting good marks same with 3dmark 03 and 05, i put my clocks down on my cpu and graphics card and they are running better but my Half life 2 is still stuttery int he first levels im gonna load up some of the latter levels because i remember how the ran before the system crashed, but yeah it sounds liek thats it because once i t would crash on both games my system would go to a blue or black screne and make a horrendus noise very high pitched, you guys all think this is it?

Did you get a new power supply? If you haven't yet, I recommend OCZ Powerstream series, Antec Truepower series, Seasonic S12 series, Enermax Noisetaker series or Fortron Blue Storm series. PCPowerAndCooling are also great but pricey. You will need at least a 400 watt GOOD QUALITY psu. Hope this helps.

yeah i got a new PSU with my Viper Case called titan 550 wat which ive never ever heard of so i know its now good quality but its till 550 watts, so im guessing thats what blew out sort of, but like it works now that i unclocked my cpu a little bit but i still get stuttters where i never use to, and just random things happen and i was getting those crashes few days ago so i think it is my PSU busting out, i do have an x850xt so im guessing i takes lots of power, also my audigy 2 zs, cpu, lighting, 2 harddrives, 2 DVD roms/cd rom drivers...
