For some reason, all the other computers on the network can share files in MSHOME, I can see them in the local network. Their all running XP Service pack 2, but for some reason my other computer running on Windows 2000 can't connect. I set it's workgroup to MSHOME and it can connect to the internet, but I can't get on the network. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean cant get on the network? if your able to access the Internet, your on the network.

Did you mean you can access the shares on the other computers ?

- you have to have the same username and password on each of the PC's and the one you are accessing from :>

windows2000PC with account "User 1" with password of "test1234"
trying to access the Win XP PC, the XP pc will need the same username and password.

- And dont try to use the network neighborhood, go Start:>Run:> and type in \\OtherPCName\SharedFolderName to access another PC, the network neighborhood doesnt work correctly all the time.

If your WinXP computers are using Simple File Sharing, you need to establish a Guest Account on the Win 2000 computer.

If you use the advance file sharing you have to set the Win2000 for file sharing according to what you would like to share, and set it with user name etc. to match the other computers.

This page includes info and links that can help in both OS'.
