I have a 50" panasonic hdtv. I wanted to connect my computer to it. My computer has a nvidia geforce 4 mx 440 so it does not have hdmi or dvi. I bought a dvi to hdmi cable (to connect to tv) and a converter from dvi to vga so i can plug it into the videocard. Once this is done, there is no display on the hdtv. what am i doing wrong?

I don't think you can do VGA to DVI. VGA is analog and DVI is digital. It can only go from DVI to VGA.

You may actually need to upgrade your video card or get a TV that has VGA input. I would highly suggest buying another video card because it will be cheaper, and you will then have DVI which will support larger resolutions than VGA.

Dang, I just spent all this money on these cables/converters and stuff haha. My mistake for not researching this prior to purchasing.
