HELP connecting to the internet through router !!!!!

This is my first post.

I installed the linksys 4 port router in my friends house. The router is connected to the cable modem. 2 computers are already installed and working.

2 days ago, I installed a D-link NIC on a 3rd comp and connected it to the router. but the internet does not work. I pinged it to the router and it pings fine. Also the router page (192.168.1.1) does not come up on the browser. It does not even ask me for username n psswrd.
The OS is Win 98

Well, you can't rule out a bad connection yet. It pinged ok? Try moving the patch cable of one of the comps that works to this particular port and see if you can get to the 'net. If not, it sounds like something in the router. If you can, then it's time for deeper digging.
