help! connecting duel display- 36" hdtv + lcd monitor

im trying to set up this display in my living room. im running a gforce7600gt overclocked and im trying to set it up where i can play games on the tv and use the smaller lcd monitor for email and what not. there is an s-video output where i can connected an s-video/hd adapter. from there i run it to the tv but the color and resolution is off. the thing is the only option i have is to run two screens the exact same size with the same resolution. maybe there is something i dont know? any help would be appriciated.
