Help connecting comp to TV!

I just went to Radio Shack and I bought a 12 foot S-Video A/V Dubbing Cable. Then I bought a regular 12 foot S-video cable and a connector to connect the 2 together (since my TV is about 20 feet away) I hooked the S-Video cable and the Red and White cables into the back of my TV under "Video 3". I then hooked the other end of the S-Video cable to the back of my Radeon 8500. I turned the TV on and went to video 3 and got a blank screen. I know I am doing something wrong, just have no idea what, can someone please help me?

Did you enable it??? Go into display properties and advanced under settings menu...then displays in the tabs...click make sure it is on....

I have a problem in the sense mine with latest catalyst drivers I get a picture and it is scaled right but it looks like a screen was placed over it....text super blurry and lines running throught it...I thought it was a frequency thing But I have tried everything...I have adjusted all contrast and brightness settings as well....

anybody have any ideas....

IMO ati still sucks big you now what with their sh^thole drivers...At least the GF4mx though obvious slower then the card worked out of the box with cd drivers...ATI is about to loose me again cause of crappy products...
