HELP computer wont post or show picture

A friends computer started to get an error in win xp "ATI 200rxm001 could not reference on VRAM 00001111332? What do I do. Its a laptop but What does this error generally mean or what do you thing it means. I know it has something to do with the Video card and the memory went bad but what do you think. Thanks

hmm, from those 2 quotes, it sounds like the vcard vram is dead... as in it cant access it anymore... but how did it display those if it doesn;t post?

It said it in windows befor it died and for some reson it started to work again

You can bump, but you are not going to get much more help on that little bit of information. There is nothing returned from a search on either of those numbers. Given that it is coming out of an ATI module I'm assuming the gfx card is dead, but as to why? No way to say from what you have posted.

You're gonna have to test another video card in the system. Take yours over to his house and test it out.
