I can't get windows to go to sleep on its own, per settings under power management. It will sleep just fine if I put it that way manually, and it wakes out of sleep just fine. In fact, my Windows Home Server wakes it up to run backups every night. The problem is, my computer won't put itself back to sleep.

No password required after coming out of sleep.

I have very little software installed... NOD32 EVEREST ultimate 4.6, WoW, BlackBerry desktop (set not to come on unless I start it), TuneUp Utilities, and drivers for my logitech mouse and microsoft keyboard.

I've had all these, except the blackberry software, installed in the past without trouble. The blackberry is powered off and the related software is shut down when all this happens, so I'm thinking its NOT the blackberry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Vista Business edition, SP1
Asus P5Q-Deluxe mobo
EVGA GeForce GTX260 GPU
Creative X-Fi PCIe sound card

Hrm...

I'm half asleep, but as I was reading your post...

It seems to me that I read about someone having this problem, and it turned out to be the mouse.

When I reread your post, I see that you're running Logitech Mouse drivers.

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't know any nice way of saying it either - IMHO, the only difference between Logitech MouseWare and a virus is... a virus works every time! :D

LoL!

Have you ever tried to remove MouseWare? OMG!!! It's almost impossible to get rid of all the remnants!

Anyway, off the soapbox...

It seems to me that someone had a problem with the mouse doing something and keeping their machine from 'sleeping'. Kind of ironic when you think about it - a mouse keeping you awake.

Unless I'm dreaming, I think they fixed the problem by disabling the 'wake up' option in the mouse software, or in the Windows 'wake up' options.

It's a long shot, but you might give it a try... ;)
