When i turned on my computer today, it got into windows like normal but was really slow, i mean really really slow. I thoguht i had a winxp disc but i guess i lost it so i just did the system restore with my partition, and now it wont even get into windows, it just sits there with my background, im using safe mode now. I have no idea what to do or whats wrong. I bought my computer from cyberpowerinc.com and i guess ill give them a call tommorow.

I just had a computer with the same symptoms, i mean it took forever to get into windows xp and when i tried reformatting it was also super slow and wouldn't even load. Tested his hard drive and found it to be bad! Replaced and everything works fine now :)

Good luck!

I'm thinking might be a virus. Many these days seem to like to hide in the sys restore. Did you run anti virus, adaware, spybot?

If you're concerned about the HD, the manufacturers websites have free diagnostic proggies for d/l. The ones I have used are bootable floppies, they don't use your OS and can check the HD even if your install is hosed.

as for the problem, run a disk test, as daveybrat advised. Also if you get hold of and xp cd.... a chkdsk /r from the recovery console is also worth a try...
