Help comparing movies.

For an assignment, I have to compare/contrast two movies from two different countries. The movies either have to be the same story or similar stories. Any of you guys have any ideas?

Example: Chocolat (USA) vs Like Water for Chocolate (Mex)

I would like to find a movie to contrast either Memento, Reqieum for a Dream, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Life's a Bitch, or The Crime of Father Amaro.

Any help would be appreaciated.
