the candidates are:
Casio Exilim EX-Z750 and the Casio Exilim EX-Z600.
i know that one is 6 and other is 7 MP but keeping price (and MP) out of mind what performs better. im asking this partly because the ex-z600 is newer and could be better.

hopefully soon ill get a look up close and let you know what seems better when side by side.

You might have better luck with this thread in the "perephirals" forum. More pertainant.
Since I'm here though... what size prints will you be printing? Casio didn't make many adjustments from their old ex-z cams to the current ones other than style. I'd base it on wether or not you value shutter speed (the ex-z600 is faster) and/or need more optical zoom. (the ex-z750 has 8x as opposed to the ex-z600's 4x) Lastly, IMO, the ex-z600 looks cooler, has a slightly larger screen and only costs $234 shipped.

PS: we joined the forums on the same day! Yea!

taking price out of teh picture the ex-z600 does look real nice, bigger screen but no viewfinder. is it true the the 750 is more "pro"?
thanks for the tip!

I purchased the Casio Exilim EX-Z750 for my wife and she loves it. It's small enough for her to take everywhere in her purse, but it takes great pictures.

not necessarily, it actually has less performance, but more MP and optical zoom. So like I said, if you're going to be printing 24x14's, then get the 750.

the ex-z750 also looked like it has more from the wheel in the back, but wow. why would a place like cnet give it a lower score... thier grading system must REALY suck. if that is the case then id go for more performance, sleekness, and compactability because i wouldnt be printing.
thanks acegazda

does this mean the z600 should have just as good quality photos and or video (would the amount of MP have an effect on that as well)?

both can only record vga quality video (640x480) but the 750 will have a little better picture quality, especially when printing large photos. The difference isn't really noticable when printing small photos such as 6x4's. The big plus for the 600 is the shutter speed. It is quite a bit faster, thus will better capture obects in motion.

bothers me that cnet said that the z600 had average image quality and the z750 commendable image quality. this because they came out at diff times?

cnet said that? I usually trust them on electronics (not computer tech). Perhaps casio sacrificed image quality when they made the shutter speed faster. IDK. Have you found a couple stores that sell the 750? I could only find 2. Though I didn't look at bestbuy or circiutcity or the like.
