I've clayed my red car plenty of times but never noticed anything like this before. I've always used the yellow claybar you can get from B&M stores like autozone. I ran out of that clay so I used this Clay Magic gray clay from autopia store on my wife's black car.

I've never clayed a black car before but a clay shouldn't scratch up a car like that. Yea the car was really dirty, but I washed it well before claying. It's not that dirt from the car scratched it, as there are these scratches at the part of the hood where I first started claying. If it was the dirt, initial areas would've been scratch free and slowly gotten worse as the clay picked up more and more dirt. Also as I said earlier, I've never noticed this with the yellow claybar

Regardless, I need to fix this. Usually I follow
Wash with dawn
Clay
Wash with meguairs gold class shampoo (different wash mitt)
Klasse All-In-One with Porter Cable 7424 random orbital polisher
Klasse Sealant Glaze
S100 carnauba wax

But Im gonna need to polish it with something before the AIO
I have Menzerna Final Polish II and 3M Perfect-It II rubbing compound.

Please recommend a method I should use to get rid of these scratch marks
Should I do
3M with PC 7424 and orange pad
wipe off with microfiber
Menzerna with PC and orange pad
wipe off with microfiber
AIO with PC and white pad
wipe off with microfiber
SG and S100

Do i need to do both 3M and Menzerna? Or will just the menzerna do?

Really appreciate any advice. Please respond ASAP as the car needs to be ready by tomorrow

Those are very light swirl marks, you should be able to buff them out with one pass of the PC with the lightest cutting compound, then polish it off with a finisher.

just tried half of the hood with menzerna and white polishing pad. Took out a lot but left a few. Im going to try a corner with the orange cutting pad and see if it takes it all out.
