Help choosing socket a board w/ atapi SATA support

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 sata and Plextor 716SA drive. When I got them, I got a Promise PCI card (for the NCQ) that has caused nothing but problems -- my computer now blue screens everytime I disconnect a firewire or usb external drive, my Plextor drive only works in the half-speed PIO mode. So I'm going to ditch the PCI card and just get a new motherboard with onboard sata.

I'd love get a 939 board w/ a new CPU and PCIe graphics card-- but that's way too much to spend right now, so I really need a Socket A board that will support my sata hard disk and plextor drive, but I'm not sure which Socket A boards have atapi sata. Any suggestions?

Other things that would be great:
- firewire (I have a PCI card for that at the moment)
- spdif coax digital 5.1 output (I already have all the cables in place for this)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone have the AN7 board and the Plextor 716SA drive? I just went out and picked up an Abit NF7-S board and it has the same problem as my PCI card did. So I've got to return this board (have about a week) and this time I'd like to get a board that others have gotten to work with my particular drive model so I can be sure it will work.

I'm sure the drive itself is good -- I tried another drive like it and it had the same problem, so I don't think it's my particular drive that's bad.

Thanks for any help.
