Help Choosing Parts for New Computer

Hey guys,

A friend of mine is looking for a new computer. He is asking me to build one for him. His budget is around $1000. He wants it to play the latest games. I already have the hard drive figured out, but I've been out of the loop for a while and have no idea what to look for. Any suggestions? I also know he wants at least 1gb of RAM and I think we will go with a PCI express video card. What do you guys think? Can you help me out?

Thanks,

AMD Athlon x2 3800+
Seagate 7200.9 160GB HDD
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 7800GT
DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
OCZ Value 2GB

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

EDIT: If that's too expensive,

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Seagate 7200.9 160GB HDD
EVGA Nvida Geforce 7800GT
Epox Mobo that everybody on the forums likes (I'll need some help from other members here)
Corsair value 1-2 GB depending on budget.

Epox 9NPA+ Ultra is the mobo you are thinking of 😉

Oh and on a personal choice, try the Samsung Spinpoint SATAII 200GB drive....it's as good or better than the seagate
