Hi All,

I have a Q9650 processor which I would like to overclock to use it for playing compatible games and image/video editing.

The available motherboards around are Gigabyte GA-EG41MT-ES2L, Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2P and Asus P5G41T-M LX.

Kindly provide the differences and help in choosing amongst the three G41 chipset motherboards as to which is better for overclocking and overall performance.

Thanks & Regards :)

Hmm, IIRC the G41 was not a significant overclocker, because of the limited memory straps available, as compare to P35 / P45 boards.

Honestly, at this point, don't throw bad money after good, you'll get much better performance with a G6400 / G6405 Pentium 2C/4T, 8/16GB DDR4-2666/3200, and a cheap and cheerful B560 mobo. You might even get 2.5 gbe thrown into the bargain, depending on which board.

C2D/C2Q is way too old to be useful these days.
