If you plan on overclocking the memory as well, you would be better off with an Asus Z77 board, since they have their T-memory system. Basicly, they have equal length traces to all the dimms. This improves the ability to overclock memory. This was in an Intel white paper, but they were surprised anyone had implemented it with the Ivy Bridge boards. It would help if you gave a price range you had in mind.

I have pretty much the same question and dont know if I should just delete my post. I didnt see this one until now.
So I have gaming build that I want to make but wanted an opinion on some Z77 mobo's.

I am pretty sure I am going to go with a i5 3570 chip and a noctua nh-c14 heatsink+fans.
I was looking at the ASUS sabertooth (I think it just looks fast) but poeple have said that this board is overkill.

Two questions.

1. I wondering which board you would recommend for a gaming rig? and
2. How high a stable OC would be with a comparable board?

I know a lot of people go for the ASrock but I would rather spend a little more since I heard the quality isnt as good as an ASUS. That being said I am totally open to suggestions as long as it is backed up with facts. 100-250 budget for the board unless it is amazing.

Personally I like the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 for its price and features but it isnt going to be a high end system board. If you are looking to run at 4.5GHz on the Intel® Core™ i5-3570K and you have good cooling then a board like the Asus P8Z77-V Pro or the Asus Sabertooth z77.
