help choosing 20ft DVI cable

Some people say DVI doesn't work well over long distances. Does that mean a high quality expensive cable is needed if it must be 20ft long? I'd like to spend under $40. (I have a good 15ft DVI cable which isn't quite long enough and an extension to that would be another option).

check ebay, they have a bunch. i bought a vga one for my crt monitor. i think i paid under $10 w/shipping. had it for over a year and works great. :beer:
 
The OP was talking about DVI though. Is there a difference in the performance vs. cord length on these two standards?
 
trying to remember now, DVI is limited to a certain length without needing it to have a repeater......cant remember the length tho...lol

20ft could well be over the limit, meaning it wont be cheap....however i might be wrong...lol
