Ok here's the deal:
I've been assigned a ~2000 word research essay about any specific even in U.S. History. Now before you start yelling out things like "World War II" and "Hippies during Vietnam", there are a few conditions I'd like to keep in mind.
1. I don't want to spend the next few weeks researching something that's been beaten to death.
2. I'm really interested in economic/financial events in US history, but want to avoid
"The StockMarket Crash"
Off beat ideas are welcome! It can be fun, as long as it's generally researchable and interesting.
