Help Chasing out a Reboot Gremlin

Homerboy

Lifer
Recently purchased a CPU/MB/RAM combo from the FS/T forums

Q9550/BioStar/4x2GB (2x2 generic, 2 XMS)

Built up machine with Win8.1
Everything seems to be working perfectly fine, however when I attempt to transfer large/lots of data to it via the LAN it reboots.

I attempted to copy over a few 1GB+ video files -> reboot
I attempted to copy over a few 1000 jpgs -> reboot

If "m not copying over files it appears to be rock solid. It installed over 800MB of patches just fine. It has transcoded video perfectly.

It just seems to be when that network card gets hammered, it reboots.

I'm at a total loss here.
Thanks in advance.

It could be a driver issue, causing a crash. What are we talking about? Realtek, Intel or something else?

You may want to try the newest drivers for your particular NIC.

Also is the BIOS fully updated?

FYI, I pulled out the 2x2GB generic RAM and it's been solid since.
In reality, I don't need the 8GB total RAM, so I will just sit with the 4GB XMS in there now.

Sounds like a memory issue then. Properly a bad DIMM, you could try them individually to see if one of them is still good.
