Help! CDRW drive stuck...

I accidentally bumped the side of my Plextor CDRW tray with my leg when the tray was out. Now, the tray is opened and cannot be closed! What should I do?

I tried bumping it on the other side, but it doesn't work.

Maybe the tray popped out of the socket half way??? I have no idea... sorry.

I'd give it a good slap, but thats just me.

hmm..I guess you can try to turn to plextor for a replacement?

Have you tried gently pushing it back in? Is it totally like crooked or just won't come in?

Urbantechie, I tried gently pushing it in gently, and then forcing it a bit, but even that didn't work. It's not crooked, it's straight out. I think the interal side of the tray is out of position or something, that's why wouldn't it wouldn't go back in.

If I open the drive, I would void the warranty and still not fixed it, not to mention that I might further damange it, so I don't think I want to do that. I'm planning to call Plextor on Monday. Do you they would be willing to replace my drive?

I had a friend whose daughter accidentally broke the tray of his brand new 12/10/32A and Plextor replaced it for him, so I'm pretty sure they'd replace yours.

Thanks for the info, guys. I certainly hope Plextor will do the same to me. Now, I have to think how to pack the CDRW drive with the tray sticking out.
