I went to load a cd today and noticed BOTH my Memorex 40x burner and Pioneer DVD drive (2 days old) arent working. I checked my hardware profile and both have exclamation points next to them! WTF? I restarted, same thing. I reinstalled the driver (cdrom.inf or something) but no go. WHATS WRONG?!? They were both working last night and I havent done anything weird since then. Both are recognized with there model numbers to the cable is fine. Both are recognized in Bios. Both have power and can open trays an spin cds. CAnt open cds and not recognized in windows though. damnit!!

I also tried uninstalling both and restarting so windows would recognize them, which it did. but they still dont work!!?!?

what should I do??

HELPPP!?!?!?!

HELP!?!?! please.....

Open regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Now delete the keys:
LowerFilters and UpperFilters.

Now reboot and your optical drives should function again.
