Help! CD Burning crashes at 14% on my 8RDA+

Hey everyone,

I'm getting this weird problem with my 8RDA+ and two separate burners - a LiteOn 32X and an LG 52X . What happens is that I start to burn a CD and Nero (I've tried like 6 different versions) crashes at 14% . This happens on both CD-R and CD-RW media.

Has anyone experienced a problem like this before on the 8RDA+ ??

I'm running a very recent (the newest?) BIOS - 05/07 I believe. However this problem happened with an earlier version as well. Also I have the 2.03 nForce 2 drivers.

Any help is appreciated.

Never seen this before. But my 8RDA+ will arrive in a few days, and I'll try burning a disc using my Sony 48x12x48 drive.

I've seen this problem and it was caused by two seperate things.

#1) The nvidia ide driver. Don't install this when installing the nforce drivers.

#2) Update your Nero software with the latest patch.

This should solve your problem.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I tried out something which is finally working for me - setting the burner as a Master. As a matter of fact, I think any burner above 24X should be set as a Master, now that I think of it.

My burner (TDK52,24,48) works great with my 8RDA+ and Nero. I have tried it with Nvidia IDE drivers and XP's IDE drivers and it works great.

The problem is actually the Nvidia SWide driver. had the same issue when i used that. using the nvidia version of the MS ide drivers is problem free for me though.
