Help! cat issue

A few months ago we found a cat and her newborn kittens lying in our front bushes. It's been at least 12 weeks since we found them. We still have one of the kittens living with us and periodically catch it nursing on momma 😕

Just the last couple of nights the momma cat has been purring/meowing really loud and is persistant about it. While she's meowing, she's also crouching about and inch or two off the floor. It also looks like she is pushing her butt out and up.

Is this stupid cat in heat? or is it possible something else is wrong?

your cat is in heat. Get her spayed-sp. If she gets out, or a sneaky male cat (think Fausto) gets in, you will have all sorts of kittens running around. Plus the mess sucks.

lol...I don't know about your area, but there are tons of places around here that do it for free. I have been putting it off because my cats never go outside, and there is zero chance of a male cat getting in here.

But now that it looks like I will be buying a house (grr...stupid lawn) I probably will get them spayed.

Yeah, get her spayed. As has been mentioned, some places will do it for free. Call the local Humane Society HQ or the local ASPCA HQ to find out where.
