help~can't watch videos w/my 6800

after installing my pny 6800nu and modding it to 16pipelines and 6 vertical shaders, all my videos have a really bright hue/contrast/brightness in all of them. it's almost as if its a neon color. i'm not sure if the mod caused the problem because i didn't watch a video before i modded but i reverted back to 12pipelines/5 shaders and still have the same problem. tried the 80.40 and the 77.72 drivers, didn't fix a thing. anyone know why this is? i was able to watch videos perfectly fine on my 9800pro 2 days ago

I had this problem too and totally like WTF!?!?! Its a driver thing, it switched your setting all around, so you gotta do 2 things. Go into color correction in the forceware, select apply color changes to all and set the settings to normal and clikc apply. Then go to video overlay setting and move the saturation bar back to the middle (100%) and click apply. Also if the hue slider is offset put that back to normal too (even tho it's usually just saturation). Note: Easily clicking restore defaults will not fix this as the defaults are the messed up settings so you have to move the bars back to normal yourself.

Yep, what he said. I was having the same problem after just updating the drivers. I went and looked, and the settings he said that were out of wack were..now things are back to normal.

I think someone should send nvidia a message saying that next time they compile their driver the person who's watching video isnt on drugs.....

yo thanks man you have been helpful all day. theres only one thing i didnt install forcewave so i guess ill have to put it in first and then fix it. thanks again

The best way to fix it is to uninstall those crappy 77.72 drivers and install the previous 71.89 drivers. They work perfectly and don't have that washed out video look you have now. 🙂
