i can't seem to get my new computer to turn on anymore. i just built it yesterday, and i installed windows 98 into it today. i wanted to switch the new one into my current desk, and when i plugged everything in, it wouldn't start. i opened up the case, and i fiddled with the motherboard, epox 8k7a, and i can turn it on via the power loss recovery. but other than that, i can't seem to turn it on. ive tried messing with most thing i could, but it doesnt seem to turn on. anyone know what might be the problem. could it be a burnt out cpu? but then it did run for a while and install an os. is there anyway i could mess around with jumpers or such? i really need urgent help.

I had a similar issue, it could be a bad power switch on the case. But first make sure that everyhting is seated nice and tight! Once you check that take off the power lead that runs from the case to the board. Make sure everything else is plugged in. On the two pins that you removed the cable, hold a flat head screwdriver to them both. If you board starts up, you have a bad power switch. Depending on your case, you can just replace the switch.
