Hi! I have a netgear router and webstart cable modem. I'll like to share my connecton with 2 other computers. The modem has a USB cable and I plugged that into my primary pc and he internet works without the ethernet oddly enough. Not sure how that works... I tried w/o the USB and only etherney, but it doesnt work. With both, it works too. I have the ethernet cable from the modem connected to the router (1st spot where it's supposed to be) and each of the 2 pcs have an ethernet to one of the 4 spots on the router. It's supposed to work, but doesnt. :( Whenever IE opens, it says on the bottoms "Detecting Proxy Settings.." for a bit, the "Loading yahoo.com..." and then it'll say page ant be loaded.. :( Anyone know what's wrong? :(

router probally not configured properly.

it works with the usb because the usb is like a direct rj-45 to the computer.

Could be your Cable ISP hasn't given your router an IP address yet. This occurs when you change hardware.
Just set it up and let it set for a few hours.

I prefer the ethernet connections over the USB...so I wouldn't give up on that yet.

You probably have to set the router up to receive Dynamic (Automatic) IP addresses.
