Here are my specs:
Windows XP Pro
Athlon XP 1800+
KT7A-RAID Rev 1.1
MSI Geforce 3 TI200 driver 21.83
Sparkle 300-60BTV
Creative Soundblaster 16 ISA
256MB 133 RAM
128MB 100 CAS2 RAM
I recently upgraded the processor from Thunderbird 700@866 to the XP 1800+.
Everything was fine before I upgraded to Athlon XP. Now although everything seems to be working fine, I can't play any games like UT (which gives me different "General Protection Error") after a few minutes of play regardless of what mode (D3D, OpenGL, Software). Kingpin and Counterstrike don't work either.
I have a spare S3 Savage 4 to test out the games, and it gives me no errors. So I am wondering what's wrong with the Geforce 3 since with the Thunderbird 866, there were absolutely no problems. Only the combo of Athlon XP and Geforce 3 there seems to be problems. You think the Power Supply has anything to do with it? The Sparkle 300-60BTV is specifically purchased for Athlon XP, so I really hope Power Supply isn't the issue, but maybe something like a BIOS setting or Geforce 3 driver?
I will be returning my Athlon XP at the end of this week if I can't fix this. Any help appreciated.
