I can?t play any Command & Conquer Generals games on my system. It is very capable of playing the games it works on my old system but not on the new one.

My system:
AMD 64 3400
Radeon 9800 PRO
Asrock Combo-Z Motherboard
1GB RAM 3200
Windows ME

The game wont start up, the CC splash screen pops up and then that all it locks up. I have to CTRL, ALT, DEL. And it shows CC is not responding. It has been updated and I still have the same problems. What do I do? It like the one game I like to play over and over.

Has any had this kind of problem if so what did you do to fix it?

Welcome to EA's great stablity. I've must of uninstalled and reinstalled that game numerous times. Then repatched it. You can give that a try.

Did any of that work? Or am I SOL!!

It worked for me. I didn't lose any my stats locally. Its been awhile since I've played CC Generals though. Online lagged way too much for me.

Set performance monitor to monitor physical ram usage in the background. Cause the C+C lockup and check performance monitor to show how much physical ram was being used at the time of the crash. If it is right at 512MB when the crash occurs, that can be an indicator.

Nonetheless, it is hard to diagnose the problem as long as you are running 1GB on an OS that doesn't support it.

Try this: "To warn Windows that you have more than 512MB of memory installed, add
the following line to the [VCache] section of your win.ini file:
MaxFileCache = 524288."
