I recently purchased the game Tiberian Sun.I was trying to make back ups of Tiberian Sun and have now ruined 4 cds. 3 of the 80 min ones. I am a father of 4 eager boys who love to play my games. I finally bought an HP 8250e writer as I was tired of the scratched cds. They must have some kind of piracy protection on the cd. It even says in the documentation that I have a right to make an archival copy.

Any suggestions ???

I don't see that your burner is supported by CloneCD. So...go to www.gamecopyworld.com. Search for Tiberian Sun. I checked and they do have a hack that allows you to burn an archive copy. Also, they have no-cd hacks, which will allow you to play the game without the cd. I almost always use no-cd hacks with my legally owned games. I don't like trying to find the cd, and, often the game is smoother and faster if it is run totally from the hard drive.

randypj,

can you give me some quick advice on how to run the no cd hack? I've been playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Restoration of Erathia with the Armageddon's Blade expansion pack. For some reason i'm having trouble getting the hack to work.

Do I have to have both the no cd hack for ROE and AB? Or just the AB which is what i'm running mainly.

From what I understand I unzip the file, replace the .exe file on the Hard Drive with the cracked version right?

How do I make sure that i'm replacing the right file? Can I run "find" and type in the .exe file? Then find it and replace it?

I've tried all this and it doesn't seem to work. I've also made sure that i'm running the proper versions too.

If you could lend some wisdom I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

bill_n_opus--I'm a big fan of the Heroes series. I think I've got all the Heroes III expansion packs and add ons. Maybe even one that was only in a combo deal....least it had some extra maps (as I recall). However, I haven't installed them....or at least only one. I think I need to install 'em all, so I can play all maps in single player.

Let me check with my bro'. He's got 'em all installed, but, probably isn't running the no-cd hack. But, I think, when he and I got them, I told him how to install 'em. Can't remember now...too much D2. Hmm...maybe it's like D2, where you have to put the music files? on the harddrive? As I recall, the protect on at least one of the Heroes III was pretty heavy at the time.

Maybe we could ask in a separate thread? Hit me via email, and I'll try to ask my bro' in the next couple of days. Also have a buddy that was playing them. There's gotta be a good site that lays out how to install 'em. I'd sure like to know if you find it first.

Oh, I kinda think maybe you would need to install both without the hack, then put the specific hack for each on each? The second probably won't install to allow correct play if you have the no-cd hack on the first one. I'll have to check.

Heroes 3 has mp3's as its music, opposed to CD audio in the MM2 game.

I can't remember if I played it with a CD or not.. there are movies and things that you would need the CD for. I know that even with regular burning programs I was able to copy HMM3 without any problems and use the copy disc just like the original.
