Ok, first of all, i'm using a Netgear RT311, and so far it has worked fine, except for the fact that i heard it won't work with online gaming and some teleconferencing.
Anyway, I've tried everything to connect to my router and change the settings and so far the only way i can get in is telnet and ftp (ftp is only for uploading new firmwares). I open IE, and type http://192.168.0.1/ into the box, and it pops up with a login box that REQUIRES you to put in a username. With this router, there is no username, which is what is causing the problem. In Telnet, it just goes straight to asking for password, and in ftp (in a cmd window) i just hit enter to get past the request for a username and it works fine.
So in IE, when i try to put something in the username box and type the password into the password box it comes up with nothing, if i leave the username box blank, then IE won't even let me hit enter.. anyone know if there is a special null character that i have to put in the username box just to fill it up, but to make it look blank when the information is sent to the router?? That's the only way i can think of to get it to work.
