Only thing I could recommend is fdisking, then formatting, and starting all over.

I agree. Reinstall Windows. Is this the first time you have used this system? Was it working fine, then stop working all of the sudden?

it was working great up until i tried to install a dvd decoder card (which kinda blew up in my computer, a transister fried on the board), then i tried to install a program on friday (powerdvd) and it hung. but up until that point, the computer had been working fine.

Perhaps try to reinstall Windows, but it kinda sounds like you may have blown something else. I am not sure though.

Sorry about the double post. It said the Forums were 'experiencing extremely high traffic' when I tried posting. The next thing I knew, there were 2 posts.

How did the problem started? or it's been like that for a long time?
any IRQ conflicts? There's just too many variables at play here. Can you describe your hardware/software config? and be more specific on your problems?

well, i think it all started when i tried to install the dvd decoder card, for my x10 module (wireless av outputs to tv). i also installed boom2000 software, which i have since uninstalled. i also have been getting MMSYSTEM266 errors as well. all of my hardware seems to work fine, 2 hard drives, 1 cdrw, 1 dvd rom drive, usb scanner/printer/mouse/dual memory card reader.
