I FINALLY figured out how to lock my agp/pci speeds (yes i know i'm a noobie). I'm currently running the system in my sig at 144 fsb * 23 = 3312 mhz. It's completely stable and idles at 35 C. My question is...how high (approx.) should I be able to go with my current setup and stock voltages? What about with bumped voltages? Can I make it to 3.5-3.7 or is that too lofty of a goal? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bump. I would really hope that your system is stable at a 9% FSB overclock.

I know that it should be. I was just trying to show my temps and stuff on my current setup. I'll probably just play with it and see how high I can go when I get home. I just wanted some advice on what is considered possible so I don't waste my time. I was hoping somebody had a similar setup to give me a base number to shoot for.

Someone around here has a Prime95-stable 3.06B at around 250fsb (on air). I just wish I could remember who it was!

250 fsb? i'm assuming that's for an 800 fsb chip because with my 533 (multiplier of 23) that would be over 5 ghz!! :Q

Ughhhh well I ran into a wall....I get up to around 3.7 ghz and it posts....but won't boot into windows. I can boot into windows at around 3.6 but i can't finish 3dmark and prime95 gets several errors.

this is what i have tried so far:
1)vcore: 1.75 (i tried 1.85 at 3.7 and still wouldn't boot into windows)
2)pci/agp locked at 66/etc/etc
3)i tried loosening my timings to 3-4-4-7 but didn't help
4)tried bumping ram voltage a little but didn't mess with it much
5)even tried bumping the agp voltage +.1 to see if 3dmark would finish

Even at 1.85 volts my temps were still relatively acceptable at 43-45C at idle and 52-55 under load. Is there something I'm just overlooking? I'm somewhat new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.

You know, I think I was drunk when I wrote that! I meant a 3.06B stable at or slightly over 3.5ghz. It seems like all of the questions we answer involve just getting the fsb's higher, but if that isnt why I said 250fsb, I must have been drunk.:D:beer:

edit: Hey, 3.5ghz Prime95 stable from a 3.06 is good! It's not an overclocker to the same extent that the 2.4C's and the 3.0C's are. Be glad that you can go that high, with decent temps. Now you can start enjoying it.:D

I agree....Beware 1.75v is too much vcore and 1.85 is way too much...If you leave it at 1.85v too long you want be enjoying even 3.5ghz too long....

I know the albatrons tend to undervolt so 1.75v could be 1.7v actual but in most part the amount you get going from 1.6v to 1.65v nonetheless 1.65v to 1.7v is very minor....

Do you have 2 sticks of ram??? I would bump them to 2.8v and try that....

Yea i do have 2 sticks of ram...i might try experimenting with the memory voltage a bit more. I also didn't feel safe using 1.75-1.85 vcore so I'm set at 1.65 now at 3.4 Prime95 stable. Now if I could only get this stupid 9700 Pro to overclock very far :disgust:.....I'm thinkin about going with a big ol' Zalman video cooler...would this help much?

From the couple of 3.06's Ive had, they shoud run at 3.5 with 1.60 to 1.65. Dont expect much more.
