Help Cant enable UDMA in W2k

Arg, So I got a radeon for the DVD assist. But I find out that the real reason my DVD looks like crap is that UDMA is off on my DVD. Ok fine so I made sure it was enabled in my Bios, and I enabled it on the secondary IDE adapter under W2K. I rebooted and nada. I know its proabably something really small and stupid that Im missing but i still need help <sigh> thanks.
