HELP! Canon A10-> Can't upload to computer.

i'm running w2k sp2 and am using the interface on the camera. i installed all the software. when i plugged the usb cable into the camera, the computer found it, but displayed a '!' next to it in device manager. the error msg is "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

i downloaded the latest usb twain driver from canon and installed it. same thing. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!
