Help Cannot Uninstall :(

I'm trying to uninstall the trial version of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 so that I can install the retail version I just bought. I have to do this b/c if I don't, the retail version gives me an error that says another version is installed and I have to remove that one first. However, when I go to add/remove programs to uninstall it, it just tells me that uninstall was interrupted (which it wasn't) and cancels the process. Nothing I did could fix this.

So I then just manually deleted every folder on my PC that had the word 'Premiere' in it. After that, I searched the registry for every instance of 'Premiere' and deleted those entries.

The stupid thing still won't install. It's still giving me the, "another version is installed, please uninstall it first."

Any suggestions? Ideas?

heh, i had this problem too. i had to get "advanced uninstaller pro" to get rid of the entry on the add/remove programs list. i even took out all the registries and files/folders too. eventually, it pissed me off and i was in need to reformat, so i did and its all good now.

CCleaner might be able to do that, under the Tools button on the left.

:(

I can't reformat.

The entry, however, is gone from my Add/Remove...but I still can't install.

If you are comfortable with the registry it shouldn't be too hard to hunt down the places where Premier made changes. However, it's a pain in the ass, and it is really unforgiveable at this point in time that a company like Adobe would handle uninstalls so poorly. In fact it's a general problem, as we all know. Software developers really need to get their act together on this stuff.

Thank for the help.

The adobe links didn't work, so I ended up downloading a trial of Your Uninstaller! 2006. The program didn't show up in the list, but I was able to do an advanced uninstall and search for it. Once it found the program, it cleared the installation history for it and it installed fine after that.

Again, thanks for the help!
