HELP! Cannot Uninstall Autodesk Maya 2010!!

Guys,

I installed Maya 2010 on my system (Windows 7 x64) and it didn't work properly at all. I wanted to uninstall it so I just clicked on the "Uninstall" in Control Panel and about 3/4 of the way through the process, there is an error that states, "1:5 2: Unable to obtain LicenseType value. RegQuery ValueEx returned 3: 2" and it stops. Maya 2010 remains on the computer without being uninstalled. This is driving me nuts! I just wanted to try out Maya and after two days of pulling my hair out because of it, I wanted to uninstall it! And now, THIS nonsense won't uninstall from my PC!

PLEASE HELP ME!!

it sounds like you may have had a demo license & the uninstall procedure is looking for the license license.

i wonder if it's possible to make a directory named "flexlm" - what it seems to like to call the directory where the license goes - to "fake it" - MAYBE make the uninstall software go forward.

BUT that's just a guess.

i suggest asking at

Try this first:

It works for windows XP - 7. It was tested on all of them. What you need to do is modify your registry. There is one key in particular to fix.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Adlm\Autodesk\Maya\2010\AdLM]
Set the value to “Type"=dword:00000001

Now try to uninstall.
I found that it is a problem in their trial software that autodesk doesnt care about.

If that does not do it, then you need to use “Your Uninstaller”
from here: http://www.ursoftware.com/ (it has a 21 day full function free trial)

or try the manual instructions below

1.delete the autodesk folder in program files
2.search in system drive [C:\] for any references of autodesk folder and delete them.
3.search the registry and delete any references to the term autodesk
and you are done.
Hope this helps !
