eVGA nF41 mobo
AMD Opteron 165
GSKILL Extreme PC3200 2x1GB
WD2500KS HDD
PowerColor X1900XT
PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI PSU
WinXP Pro SP2

System seems completely stable. Simultaneously running 2 iterations of Prime95, 2 iterations of Super Pi 32M calculations, and an iteration of OCCT torture test for over half an hour currently with no errors. Have run tests seperately in the past for hours, testing both cores at the same time, for hours with no problems. Memory passes Memtest86+ after 12 hrs with no errors.

Everytime I try to install teh video drivers from ATI, it freezes. tried both the 6-2 and 6-3 versions.. same results. Video card worked perfect in another system.

Does anyone have a clue what the @#$% is going on with this?

This is caused because you haven't set the video driver to 'Standard VGA'.

If you can't set the display adapter to 'Standard VGA' (like I couldn't when I tried), try pointing the windows device installer to the .inf file that is in the ATI folder that was extracted when you ran the driver setup program. After you do that and then restart, you shouldn't have any problems running through the full driver setup.

Had some unexpected company. Actually, I didn't manage to get it to work that way... What did work was installing just the driver and WDM driver, without the CCC, and afterwards then trying to install dotnetfx. For some reason, that seemed to work. After the Dot Net framework was installed, then the CCC would install. Before that, neither the do net framework, nor the full installation suite from ATI would install. WEIRD.
