Hello,
I seem to have alot of problems with my vid card. I dotn know if its is that I dont have the right drivers but this is becoming rather fustrating. :(

I have a Elsa Gladiac 32 MB AGP card running on Windows ME (crap system..I wish I had 98). Running on a 900 mhz processor with 768 MB of ram. The problem is that seems like I cannot change the resolution on the game. I try to change it from its default (600x400) but it crashes. Anyone have this problem? I upgraded the drivers for my elsa vid card and for UT, but still have this problem. Could it be my sound card the one who is causing this?
Please help. Thanks
PS: I heard that the 6.5 drivers are quite stable. Where Can I get these nvidia 6.5 drivers?
Thanks

Ok what type of cpu???? what motherboard??? patch UT to the latest version. Install via 4in1 drivers if it's a via chipset. I cant tell you much more without kniwing your exact specs.

My CPU is an 900 Mhz AMD Athlon ThunderBird with 3DNOW.
My motherboard is an Abit KT7A. I beleive i have the UT patch v436 ( I beleive this is the latest) I have soundblaser live value card and I downloaded the livewire 3.0 for ME (the latest I beleive).
I have a 40 GB Quantum 7200 rpm ATA 100 HD. An HP CDRW 10x4x32 and an 52x regular CD rom drive. I also have installed an ata 66 adapter on my pci slot for a Maxtor ATA 66 7200 rpm 20 GB HD. I also have hooked up a 56K creative Modem Blaster (external). I hope I covered everything. Thanks

I`ve a similar system to you(see my rig)anyway UT runs great so did you install the the Via 4 in 1 drivers?I`m using 4.28,but the 4.25a was fine with UT,also the 6.31 & my current 6.50 drivers work fine with UT, try downloading latest monitor driver. You can get the 6.50 drivers from here .

Thanks mem. Where Can I get the Via 4-1 drivers?
So my monitor can be the one causing this problem?
hmm. I might have to search and download the latest drivers for it.
Thanks so much. Any more input would be appreciated.

You can get Via 4 in 1 drivers(4.28) from here ,you don`t normally need the latest monitor drivers but it does not do any harm to have the latest, also try it with V-sync enabled .

The Via chipset is on the motherboard,& yes your board is a Via chipset KT133A motherboard. It will also tell you in the motherboard Handbook(manual). This is from ViaHardware below,

<< VIA has been offering their 4-in-1 driver for quite some time now. It is designed to solve all compatibility problems with Microsoft OS's and VIA chipsets. As MS has traditionally provided very little support for third party chipsets, the chipset manufacturers must provide their own patches >>

Is the display driver for UT set to "Direct3D"? As a default, it will be set to "Software Rendering" which sucks a$$, and "OpenGL" won't run well, either. I know it may sound simple, but sometimes it's the simple things we tend to overlook first. . .:)
