help! cannot connect two computer

i have two pc:

1) winxp, laptop,

2) win2000, notebook

both of them use the same linksys router. (pc2 is wireless)

but i tried many settings still cannot connect them to share files.

is it not possible to connect winxp/win2000 computers?
