HELP! can not boot into win2k anymore(not resolved yet. plz take another look)

I was watching a svcd on my computer. everything was working fine. I tried to switch to full screen and indeo windvd froze.
I restarted and i see a glimpse of a blue screen after the win2k boot sequence(just before it goes into password screen) and
the computer just turns off. the monitor led flashes and no activity from computer.

I tried booting with safe mode and Last known good configuration.
I do not know what the blue screen says since i only see it for a fraction of a second....
Someone please help!

ERD....do not know what it is but most probably no.

Put in the Win2k CD and boot off of it then select Repair

An ERD is an Emergency Repair Disk. It's a floppy that will allow you to repair your Win2k configuration.
I'm guessing you don't have one...

Boot off your Win2k CD and "repair" but you will have to do the manual repair which is a pain in the ass

i will be making an ERD as soon as i boot up properly again. definitely a good thing to have.

I like the manual repair it allow me to control what gets fixed and what does not

i used the win2k cdrom and selected repair. i used both manual and fast repair options. win2k located my OS directory on the drive and performed tests....it did not tell me if there was an error....do not know if it should...

anyhow, the blue screen problem is still there....the repair did not work.
is it alright to use a ERD made on another win2k system?

I had this same damn problem with winXP a few days ago... I ended up formatting.... :Q

yeah. i am taking the pussy way out. i am gonna slap on xp for 2 days before reformatting it again properly in thanksgiving
