Just hoping it could...I have a strong hunch that the answer is a big NO but you never know...

My problem is this: I've got a laptop w/ 2 PCMCIA slots one on top of the other. I have a 802.11b card in the lower slot. If I add another card in the top slot (it's a USB ports card, so it has to be in the top one for shape constraints), the signal to the wireless card is completely blocked. Any way around that?? come on genuises...

No solutions, but a PCMCIA card should be built in such a mannor that it's impossible to fit in upside-down.

A PC Card cannot be plugged in upside down, except for cards which are specially designed to do so, such as Xircom's Realport cards.

There is a notch at the side that will prevent you from plugging it in all the way if it is upside down.

No solution with the cards you have - they only go in one way - but what I would be looking for would be a USB card with a dongle so that shape problem doesn't get in the way. I think this one would work for you:
