Basically, my friend has forgotten her passcode. I've tried YouTubeing it and theres way to bypass it, there are loads, but I cant seem to do it. I tried the dial 911 thing, but its not working or am I doing it wrong? I'm at the UK, so do I dial 999 instead of 911? Also, she dosent know what version she has, but I'm assuming she has 6.1 +

Can someone help me out, she has no clue about phones and stuff so I'm trying to save her ass! :awe:

She dont mind wiping everything in her iphone btw.

You can't bypass it. There was a bug that lets you get to the phone app, but that's not bypassing it, you can't go to the home screen.

Turn the phone off. Plug the phone into a computer with iTunes installed, then pres both the power and the home button together (you'll see the Apple logo). Once the Apple logo disappears, release the power button and keep holding the home button. That will put the phone in recovery mode, and you can restore it in iTunes.

Is there an Apple store nearby? You can take it to them, they'll help you out.

Make sure to make an appointment first.

I've had that happen. If it takes too long downloading the iOS update, the iphone will time out of recovery mode. Wait for the download to finish and then try again.

I helped a friend with this on her iPhone 4 a couple years ago. Recovery mode didn't work. I had to put it in DFU mode to restore it.
