i want to know a good site to buy used laptops in the $300-$600 price range. i want these basic specs: 600 mhz+, 128mb+, 14.1+, 10+gb, dvdrom. main usage is surfing net and working at home. not for mobility.

I am currently looking at laptops in dell financials. are there any other good sites to look for refurbished laptops: sony, hp, toshiba? i dont want to buy it from individuals on ebay.

thanks

I have a Latitude I bought from Dell's auction site. Got a great deal, cause there wasn't a lot of traffic, and mine came off lease with 3 or 4 months left on the warranty. Much safer than Ebay.

www.truedataproducts.com has been in the refurb laptop business for a long time now -- a friend bought one from them four years ago and was happy with it.

Of course Dell sometimes offers a brand-new laptop with double the speed, double the disk, and a much longer warranty for $699 in the Sunday paper, so that extra $100 might be worth spending to buy new.
