Hello everyone,

I am trying to build a new CPU for gaming and internet, and was looking for some opinions on what componets are best.
I have the case, keyboard and mouse. I need some good info on what motherboards and processors are good ect.

Thanks

Well, your first step would be to hire 100 - 150 EE's and various other engineers, pour about $10 billion into R&D and then buy a chip foundry for $2 billion. In a year or so, you might have a half decent gaming CPU ;)

Sounds about right, try posting in Off Topic or General Hardware, you might find more engineers there then in here.

LOL we in the AT forums are not mean... we are just educating him ;)

And it would help if he could specify what he wants, give us a baseline and a budget. Before that we are just going to continue educating him ;)

I think CPU actually can refer to the entire Central Proccessing Unit, not only the proccessor.

cpu

<architecture> 1. central processing unit.

2. Occasionally used (although less and less) to refer to the
system unit.

Vetter, what price range are you looking at, I mean, we all would (I assume, I'm really not completely up to date) want an FX-51 and an 9800XT with a whole ton of RAM and a prometia cooling system but that just a little overkill.
