Hey guys, so here is my current situation. I have a klipsch promedia ultra 5.1 amp/sub box/controller which is running a low budget pioneer 5.1 speaker setup. The connector for the front right/left speakers is going out on me. If I wiggle it around I get audio from both front right and left, otherwise only the left. The rest of the speakers are fine.
With that being said, it's time to upgrade and I would like to take 2 steps forward instead of side grading.
I see the z906's on amazon are only 250 right now, that is option one I am looking at.
Option 2 would be buying a receiver and some really nice speakers. I can live without the sub for now. My buddy owns the klipsch quintet 5.0 set hooked up to a sony receiver and it sounds CLEAN as hell to me. I am no audiophile by any means, but I do notice hissing, distortion, crackling and I can tell the difference between a lot of the low range speakers *some people honestly can't lol*.
So I could grab a receiver and the quintet set, I could build a set, or I could grab the z906's that are only 250 dollars. This will be used on a computer setup, mainly for music, occasionally gaming *usually wear a headset in matches* and sometimes movies. But I listen to a lot of music and I enjoy it being very loud and VERY clear. I would sacrifice volume for clarity every day of the week though, however I am looking for both.
I would like to try and accomplish all of this for 500 shipped to my door. If possible great, if not I am open to suggestions and options.
Thoughts?
